Amanda Blount

Amanda Blount, MSW

Throughout her professional career, Amanda has worn many hats. As a high school student, Amanda led campaigns to increase awareness about conflicts occurring around the world as a volunteer for WarChild Canada. She also volunteered at the Meals on Wheels program, the Boys and Girls Club, and pursued interests in utilizing music and art as awareness building tools. She began her college career at State University of New York's Purchase College, where she majored in Creative Writing. From SUNY Purchase, Amanda transferred to Rutgers University to pursue her studies in History and Political Science. Amanda holds a Bachelors degree from Rutgers University, and a Masters Degree in Social Work and Advanced Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Washington University in St. Louis.

Between undergraduate and graduate school, Amanda lived and worked in Sierra Leone West Africa for Miracle Corners of the World, where she oversaw the Sierra Leone community centers. With MCW, Amanda worked with some of the country's most impoverished communities to develop community engagement programs including vocational skills programs, developing bakeries, setting up IT centers and overseeing a community sports league.

Amanda is currently the Director of Development for a mental health agency, Trinity Counseling Service, in Princeton, New Jersey. In addition to her work at TCS, Amanda is a nonprofit development consultant; the founder of the New Jersey chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network; a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals; and a volunteer for her local food pantry.  When Amanda is not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her rescued pitbull, Dolly, doing home renovation projects, trying new and healthy recipes in the kitchen, and traveling the globe.
