Want to start conversations about diversity, but aren't sure where to start? Hearing problematic things at work, but feeling like you don't have the tools to interrupt? Come to this session to solidify your foundational understanding of the ways that oppression works on internal, interpersonal and institutional levels. Gain skills for interrupting oppressive behavior and begin the lifelong process of practicing allyship. Most importantly, learn how to empower yourself and others to achieve social justice superhero status!

Ariella Frishberg grew up in Portland, OR and returned to the Best Coast after receiving her BA in Women and Gender Studies at Smith College in 2012. She has worked for YWCA Clark County in various capacities since 2013, and currently gets paid to hang out with high schoolers and talk about consent. Domestic Violence Prevention Specialist, YWCA Clark County
Michelle graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a focus on gender and sexuality studies. She works at the YWCA SafeChoice domestic violence program doing prevention work. She can often be found expressing lots of excitement about libraries, consent, baked goods, and other people's dogs.

With a BS in Human Development and Family Science from Oregon State Univeristy(Go Beavs!) and four years working with youth in foster care, Heather is known as the "Teen Whisperer" in her role as a Court Appointed Special Advocate Program Specialist both in and out of the court room. Outside of her membership in the Social Justice Action League, she is known to attend ComicCons, bake ridiculous amounts of cupcakes, and pretend to go the gym.
