Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Session Description
Join internationally recognized master-trainer and thought leader Beth Kanter, together with Third Plateau Social Impact Strategies for a mini-deep dive into the art and science of peer coaching.  YNPN Chapter leaders and others, will have a unique opportunity to lead a ground-breaking, six-month, peer learning leadership development program for emerging nonprofit leaders based on the “Emerging Leaders Playbook.”

With funding from the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, we are partnering with YNPN to provide training and facilitation guides that will accompany the “Emerging Leaders Playbook” so the program can be implemented in chapters across the country.  The leadership development program will help YNPN members improve their skills in areas such as: self-awareness and reflective practice; understanding leadership styles; self-management and mindfulness; facilitative listening; asking powerful questions; meeting facilitation and more.

Following the session, participants will become a peer learning group as they learn with and from one another to implement the program in their chapters. Participants will also have access to free coaching from Third Plateau Social Impact Strategies, and Beth Kanter over the course of six-month program.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand how to facilitate an emerging leadership program in your community;
  • Get an overview of why self-awareness and self-management skills are essential building blocks to good facilitation and tips on how build those skills;
  • Understand and practice mindful and facilitative listening skills;
  • Practice formulating and asking powerful questions for effective peer coaching;
  • Receive an overview of basic facilitation approaches and techniques to facilitate a small group of chapter participants.

Note: This session is a half-day workshop and requires pre-registration. The purpose of the Deep Dives are to give participants an opportunity to spend more time thinking and learning about a particular topic or skill.  All Summit attendees will participate in the opening keynote and lunch presentation(s).  This Deep Dive workshop is scheduled to take place during the afternoon breakouts.
